HTC's G1 arrival in India was expected in December 2008 but was delayed due to the economic slow down
Forum moderator Will of T-Mobile Forums has posteddetails about the RC33 update for the Android OS based G1 phone. The new RC33 will be rolled out this week with the Google Latitude feature but won't have 'Cupcake' functions like on-screen keyboard.
Cupcake's on-screen keyboard functionfor G1 was spotted last week and with the information available about the RC33 firmware, the anticipation for Cupcake has increased.
The RC33 firmware update will have following new features: - Google's Voice search feature
- Google Latitude and Google Maps 3.0 - "Check for upgrades" support
- Spam reporting on offensive comments in Android Market - Save picture from MMS
The numbers of fixes for the following issues are also included: - G1 screen hanging fixed
- Fix for reminders in calendar - Forced WiFi logout on quitting IM
- Messages Stability issue - Failure to download more than one e-mail.
Android OS has been getting interesting updates and fixes for the bugs. HTC's G1 arrival in India was expected in December 2008 but was delayed due to the economic slow down. The Android-based G1 developer handset is available online. The delay is both good and bad for Indians. Good, since the bugs will be fixed and more features will be added by the time it is launched in India, and bad because it's bound to be network locked and rest of the services would be network dependant.

Google wiket has a microphone next to the go button. It works.. really cool. Asked me if it was ok to use my location. No soft keyboard. Phone seems to be faster.
