Fujifilm has announced development of its FinePix S5 Pro, successor to the acclaimed FinePix S3 Pro.
Fujifilm has announced development of its FinePix S5 Pro, successor to the acclaimed FinePix S3 Pro.
In the competitive DSLR market, Fujifilm believes that the FinePix S5 Pro will stand apart from the crowd by combining much sought-after picture quality of the Super CCD SR sensor with a fully digital and durable metal alloy body.
The development of FinePix S5 Pro will see modification of Fujifilm's Super CCD SR II to its new Super CCD SR Pro sensor.
The Super CCD SR Pro sensor will be at the centre of the camera's performance. However, Real Photo Technology Pro, which combines Super CCD SR Pro and Real Photo Processor Pro, will ensure greater dynamic range with smoother tonality from highlight to shadow. The new Super CCD SR Pro features an optimized low-pass filter, which ensures dust and noise are kept to an absolute minimum.
Besides, the Real Photo Processor Pro features two cycles of noise reduction that enable photographers to take images at even higher sensitivities (ISO 100 to ISO 3200), with visibly reduced noise
The FinePix S5 Pro will introduce one particularly sought-after feature; the ability to record jpeg and RAW files simultaneously to the card. This will enable photographers to view and distribute smaller-sized jpegs, whilst retaining the ability to work on larger RAW files later on a PC or Mac.
FinePix S5 Pro uses a tough magnesium alloy shell, and with weatherproof seals, and first-rate design, it is a camera that is poised to take-on the mantle of "workhorse," irrespective of the environment.
The FinePix S5 Pro offers greater flexibility to control color and dynamic range. For greater creative control, the camera offers six preset range settings between 100 percent and 400 percent. Additionally, there are three distinct settings for the negative film preset option to further enhance creativity.
Fujifilm says its Face Detection Technology LSI is also under development, specifically for the FinePix S5 Pro. Herein, with one press of a button, the camera detects up to ten faces almost instantaneously - post capture of each image.
The FinePix S5 Pro is scheduled for launch in February 2007. Pricing will be announced nearer to the launch.
