George Hotz has released a jailbreaking application for the just launched Apple iPhone 3GS
The original jailbreaker of the iPhone, 20 Year old George Hotz is at again. The youngster has released a jailbreaking application for the just launched Apple iPhone 3GS. The application codenamed "purplera1n" is available only for Windows. Windows 7 is currently not supported. There have been some reports of users facing issues with Vista though. To Jailbreak, the user needs to have the latest version of iTunes installed and of course, an iPhone 3GS with the latest 3.0 firmware. In a blog post, Hotz has confirmed the arrival of a Mac version of purplera1n in the near future. The procedure to jailbreak as explained by Hotz is simple too. As he says in his blog post, Connect your iPhone normally. Click "make it ra1n". Wait. On bootup, run Freeze, the purplera1n installer app.
If you are prepping for an update, make sure you have backed up your stuff and do it before Apple fixes the loophole !
