Mozilla has released the second beta of Firefox 3.6 web browser. About 190 bug fixes have been added in this release which came after two weeks of the first beta. Download Firefox 3.6 beta 2 for any operating system from here.


Firefox 3.6 browser codenamed Namoroka is a step-up version of 3.5 and is based on Gecko 1.9.2 web rendering platform. Add-ons compatibility can be tested installing the Add-on Compatibility Reporter to the Firefox 3.6 beta2. Over 190 bug fixes help improve the performance, security and overall stability of the browser on any OS.


Major changes in the Firefox 3.6 Beta 2 include:

  • Optimized to run on small device OS such as Windows CE and Maemo.
  • Improved JavaScript performance, startup time and overall responsiveness
  • Support for HTML5, CSS and DOM web technologies
  • Web Open Font Format (WOFF) support
  • Alerts for outdated plugins
  • Open, native video support in full screen mode
  • Built-in Personas support to change browser appearance with single-click

Firefox offers the new 3.6 second beta version in 45 languages. Final build of the 3.6 version is expected by the end of this year.
