Fatwa issued by panel of clerics in Kanpur
In this fast-paced world, many of us keep religious hymns and music as ringtones on our mobile phones, maybe as a small gesture towards remembering God.
However, according to recent reports, a Muslim organization has issued a fatwa over using verses from the Koran as ringtones, saying that answering the call while the aayat (verses from the Koran) is going on is a sin.
The panel of clerics in Kanpur also said that taking a cellphone to the toilet as it rings is a sin because aayat cannot be heard in a toilet. They also condemned the habit that people have of keeping cell phones on vibration mode while attending prayer services.
A fatwa in the Islamic faith is a religious opinion on Islamic law issued by an Islamic scholar.
again, another scare tactic to drive the masses one step closer to stupidity.

My friend Joe, its muslims confining the muslims about not using verses from Quran as ringtones. And this has nothing to do with some kind of tactic for masses. Correct me if I am wrong and like wise.

The problem with fatwa like this is that it eliminates personal and secular space using meaningless religious filling.

It's a faith. No other community has rights to comment on it. If it is accepted in all Muslim community we should respect it. This is way how we live in India. We have to respect each other than only we can jointly march in this trouble some world.

everybody has rights to comment on any social matter. If a nonsense is accepted by a community, others can rightly, n respectfully point out that. u need not accept that

mobile use is a personal matter what is the role of religion in that? Fatwa like this creates thoughtless brutes. Teach children cell etiquette, nothing more is needed

to listen anything anywhere is not a sin. If we believe in god, respect should come from heart. Good things can be done anywhere, anytime.

Those who really respect customs/religion, better not to carry mobile to toilet. because sometimes we enjoy to listen the religious hymns like WaheGuru, Gayatri mantra, Koran, Geeta etc.

verses from kuran as a ring tones or hymns should not be taken as a sin as i think so . At least one is able ato hear and make solace of his mind .In my view a religion does not say that you should not hear it in musical way.Sikhs andHindus pray and singin His name .

In case you didn't notice the Japanese consider their bathrooms and toilets as places to relax as well and give high importance to the cleanliness. Frankly speaking if your toilet smells and is unclean it's not something we can do anything about.

Islam requires transformation. The religion which came into existance 1800 years back never transformed itself to the changing times. The Muslim clerics use sharia law to suit their ends in civil mattaers. They shall apply Sharia Law in India in criminal law also if they believe their religion truly.

Hi VS Ramachandra, Have you transformed? your ancestor were eating with mouth and teeth. Have u started eating from somewhere else? Brother, Islam is the way of life not only religion. It is devised by Allah the creator of all (even you). The production of human being is not transformed, you mother's way of affection is not transformed, so why you need the way of human life to transform? Because you don't believe in Allah, you said this. I pray Allah that He gives you and all non believers Hidaya, Amen.
