Asus has launched a new series of intelligent graphics cards - the Matrix series.
Asus has launched new Matrix series graphics cards with the ASUS ROG (Republic of Gamers) EN9600GT MATRIX/HTDI/512M. Touted to be "intelligent" graphic cards, the EN9600GT MATRIX has the same chipset as the original EN9600GT and is equipped with three exclusive features Super Hybrid Engine, Hybrid Cooler Technology and iTracker profiles. Fitting into the mid-range enthusiast cards, the card tries to fit between the power-packed 8800 series and big daddy 9800.
Super Hybrid Engine featured in Matrix cards performs a two-fold function - first it auto-detects the GPU load, temperature, cooling and then adjusts the voltage, clock speeds and fan speeds in real-time as per the graphics requirement. For instance, when your graphics requirement is less, the engine will automatically adjust memory voltage accordingly.
Asus claims that EN9600GT Matrix is capable of GPU and memory voltage boost in the 3D mode from 1.15V up to 1.34V and from 2V up to 2.01V respectively. While in 2D mode, the GPU and memory voltage can be reduced from 1.15V to 0.9V and from 2V to 1.772V respectively. Added to that, the Auto Phase Switch technology can lower the power consumption from 25.54W to 18.82W, along with extremely silent cooling.
