Dopod Communication has now officially entered the Indian market with the unveiling of three new handset models namely; C720W, C800, and 818Pro.

Dopod Communication, a leading PDA phone and Smartphone provider has now officially entered the Indian market with the unveiling of three new handset models namely; C720W, C800, and 818Pro.

With this, the company promises to offer sophisticated and innovative converged solutions along with the best designs and trends prevalent internationally to the consumers here. Dopod claims to have become Asia's fastest growing mobile communications company in just two years due to its successful partnerships with two world class industry leaders including High Tech Computer (HTC) and Microsoft.

Talking about the target audience, Ajay Sharma, Regional Sales Manager, Dopod Communication India, "Our handsets are predominantly targeted at the working professionals, businessmen, and executives who need to be able to access information anytime, anywhere, while on the move. In addition, we feel that each of our device has its own unique selling points and key differentiator, hence, showing that we have different devices to cater to the different needs of the customers across all segments."

The Dopod C720W is a slim, stylish Windows Mobile Smartphone with Microsoft DirectPush or BlackBerry Connect. It features a built-in 1.3 megapixel CMOS camera and weighs 130g with the body measuring 111.5mm (L) x 62.5mm (W) x 12.8mm (T) and features the colour display with 61mm QVGA resolution 320 x 240 pixels. The handset has the standby time of up to 220 hours and talk time of up to 5 hours.

Hi, This is Rajat from West Delhi (India), I am using Windows Mobile Dopod 818 pro from last 9 months, But I am facing problems handling it,Sometimes when call comes it start vibrating like crazy, and I can't recieve that call as no key works, and now it has another problem of battery backup,moment it will show 100% battery n after 15 sec, it turned off as battery low, kindly locate me with the nearest service centre...

I have purchased a Dopod 818 Pr - it has great features except for following serious short commings: 1. Speakers are lousey and sound out put weak - however as soon as you put on ear plugs provided with the set the sound is superb. 2. Camera has very poor shutter speed. - daytime straight shots are great with good resolution, but when you try shooting a Video at night - it's a nightmare, shightest movement of subject is recorded as a blur - slightest movement of your hand blurs the entire image for as long as the camera is in motion. why cant they have higher shutter spead?????? 3. I was told it will do Phone conversation recording - I can not find how, I think it only dose Voice recording through speaker - Speaker sensitivity is quite good but since Conversation recording feature dose not work, well waht can I say now.

What will you do with GPS in India, Practically GPS has no value till it is integrated with high Quality Digital maps of the Area (which means all addresses must also be digitally integrated), as we use in USA and Europe for driving, where you can punch in an address and system guides you through every turn and crossing till the destination. My GPS systen brought in USa has beeing lying useless in Delhi. What you should go for is a full fleged PDA with relevent features - forget GPS in India at the moment - Do not buy a handset that has a camera but no Flash light!!! you will regrett it.
