Delicious 2.0 is Tastier

Yahoo's efforts towards updating Delicious have been come to fruition, Delicious 2.0 looks great.
Speculation about what Yahoo's been cooking up at Delicious finally comes to an end.
Yahoo serves spiced up Delicious 2.0 today. Although Delicious 2.0 looks hip and chic compared to the original version, the classic structure remains the same. To check the new version users must get a new browser cookie after logging into their respective accounts.
To begin with, the ever-confusing domain name, del.icio.us has been replaced with delicious.com, so no more annoying spelling errors. The neat cosmetic changes make the site's elements look much better, and simpler to use, while retaining the tried and tested basic structure. Techcrunch blogger Michael Arrington had given a Delicious 2.0 preview and overview last September.
The makeover emphasizes three major areas: speed, search and design. Overhauling the creaky old backend infrastructure is expected to load pages faster. Their search engine has been revamped, making it faster and easier. In terms of design, the cluttered tag cloud has been removed. New features like alphabetical sorting of bookmarks and selectable detail levels are included by public demand.
What took them so long? Yahoo had been testing the integration of Delicious search results with their search results. Moreover the organizational ups and downs faced by Yahoo in recent past must've slowed thins down considerably.
