Creative has launched media players equipped with proprietary X-Fi Crystalizer technology and W-LAN.
Creative has announced two new portable media players; Creative Zen X-Fi and Creative X-Fi with W-LAN based on Xtreme-Fidelity (X-Fi) audio technology. Named 'Zen X-Fi', Creative's new portable media players have proprietary X-Fi Crystalizer technology that restores the highs and lows of music playback. This deviation in audio levels occurs when audio files (MP3, AAC, etc) are badly ripped. And obviously, built-in Wi-Fi support is the only difference between Zen X-Fi and Zen X-Fi with Wireless LAN.
Comparison between Zen X-Fi and the iPod Touch is bound to happen based on the built-in Wi-Fi and large screen display. Zen X-Fi with Wireless LAN would support popular Instant Messaging apps like Yahoo! and MSN messenger, and would allow streaming multimedia content like music, videos, and photos from a home server. Podcasts can be streamed from the Web through ZENcast as well as a variety of podcast channels.
Surprisingly, Zen X-Fi (W-LAN) lacks a Web browser despite having W-LAN and chat services support. Both Zen X-Fi players bundle along a pair of Creative EP-830 earphones. And unlike the iPod Touch, Zen X-Fi allows music and videos to be enjoyed via an external speaker.

The price in us for 16GB is only $199. How much will it cost to order and ship it to india? pl does anyone have any idea?

But then, you cannot have your stuff shipped from the singapore outlet of zen, although US outlet does get your stuff shipped t india, as far as the warranty issues go, its NOT* available in India.

yes it is.in fact, keep in mid forever, that any player that has a jack for an earphone, or a headphone, or any such sound output device, is always conpatible with speakers. Also, what I mentioned in my review right back there, I would like to make a few changes, the leather cover and screen protectors are AVALIABLE* but at the US web outlet of creative. the screen protector costs somewhere around 8 UD$ and leather case 25us$. Also, the zen is cheaper there, but then, in singapore creative e-outlet, it has a free usb charger along with it.which costs about Rs.900..so ya.choice is yours. I went for a screen proector( a pack of three,, 8 bucks) and a leather cover (25 bucks as i said).

I am buying the 8 gb version........ordered from Singapore....229SGD, also i took 2 silicone covers, thats another 38 SGd, so total was about 277SGD that means about 8200 indian bucks....pretty cheap. Also, the earphones provided with this PMP are pretty classy (and 80 SGD if u buy them yrself) I have ehard though, that it sounds better off without the X-fi technology switched o, although this is the best sounding player creative has ever come out with. ONE BAD FEATURE is the WIFI feature, its totally crap, of no use (u'll realize whn u get it yrself), that is why, i wanted a 16gb version without wifi, but its not avaliable. Atm, even the accessories dont have much to blurp, jst silicon covers are out for it, not even a leather cover (should be out in the near future). creative has also come out with some fantastic X-fi speakers, they do sound great with this PMP. ZEN X-fi vs ORIGINAL ZEN X-fi has better screen, very slighly better, i feel so. It shows out colors better than the zen. Also, it sounds better than original zen. Main thing is, it looks about 10 times better than original version of this PMP. But then still, a user of ZEN original, will have to dig up hard to find any significant reason to shift to this player. They are 70% similar. Overall, this PMP is very much appreciated and recommended. If you are buying anything that is in the range above this, you can go for SAMSUNG p2 or say COWON A3, but then X-fi is the boss in its range of budgets . Peace.
