Creative has launched its tiny 1GB MP3 player, the Creative ZEN Stone, in the country.
With smooth contours and a glossy finish, the ZEN Stone comes in 6 colors, including black, white, red, blue, pink, and green.
According to Creative, a total of up to 500 songs can be dragged and dropped to the device. By choosing either 'play' or 'random', users can skip through tracks/albums, or play all the songs randomly. Up to 10 hours of music is made available through a single charge of the rechargeable built-in battery, the company claims.
The ZEN Stone's multi-color LED screen helps show the MP3 player's charging or playback status. The player's performance is enhanced with the integrated free software, Creative Media Lite.
It is possible to personalize the ZEN Stone with translucent skins that come in five matching colors along with a clip, or a sporty armband that comes with a skin, or a fashionable key chain that comes with a tiny case to carry the player.
The Creative ZEN Stone is available across leading retail outlets in the country, and through Digital Life Style Distributors. The device is priced at Rs 3,299 (exclusive of taxes), and comes with a one-year warranty, along with a bundled ZEN Stone key chain worth Rs 500 for free.

It's ironic that creative came up with the Zen stone, since they were pretty quick to criticize the shuffle for not having a screen. IMHO both players **** ***, and creative needs to really get it's game on if it wants to tackle Apple. Till then Cowon, iRiver etc. are the players to look at.

Because they r giving 500 Rs. key chain free with it by taking additional 2000 Rs. from Indians. Every international gadget manufacturer dumps low end products in India & charges a bomb for it. It's time we promote Indian brands to teach them a well deserving lesson.

I work for the Indian govt. The fault lies not with the manufacturer but the government, which slaps as much as 150% as import duty. Also with greedy resellers who knock out huge margins.
