Corsair Memory USA, in association with Tirupati Enterprises, had recently organized a five-city India road show, from December 5 to December 11.

Corsair Memory USA, in association with Tirupati Enterprises, had recently organized a five-city India road show, from December 5 to December 11, to launch the world-renowned American memory brand into the India market.

Scott Thirlwell, Sales Director (APAC), and Shane Dennison, Sales Manager (APAC), were Corsair's representatives who presided the road shows organized in Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Cochin, and Hyderabad.

According to Corsair, the company plans to shake up the India market with the introduction of product policies never before seen in the India market.

Talking about the road show, Dennison, said, "This Corsair road show in conjunction with our national distributor, Tirupati Enterprises, serves two purposes. Firstly it is a fact-finding mission. And secondly, the road show is the best opportunity to offer sales training to our dealer network. If Corsair is to succeed with our plan of becoming the top-3 memory brand in India by the end of 2007, we need to customize a sales/branding strategy that is unique to India. India is unique, and therefore it will take a unique approach."

Under this road show, Corsair came out with a unique offering, called 'NO QUESTIONS ASKED' 10-year Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) policy.

Talking about the policy, Dennison, explained, "If a dealer sells a Corsair memory module, and experiences any problems such as module failure, chip burnout, or physical damage, then they can contact their local Tirupati office, and request an immediate replacement. Under this policy, consumers don't have to wait for lengthy product repairs. Corsair will immediately replace with a new module."

But when asked how the company can afford to implement such a policy in India, Thirlwell, replied, "The secret is that our RMA rate is under 1 percent world-wide so we see a lot less product failures than other memory companies that are not focused on building a long reputation for top quality like Corsair is. Because of the extensive build and testing process we go through to ensure we have the world's most high quality compatible modules. Our process starts with qualification of only the best branded memory chips then state-of-the-art manufacturing and then finished product testing."

During this brief road show, Corsair representatives presided over dealer training sessions attended by 60 and more dealers per city. These representatives also took the time to visit the local dealer channel, and gain valuable market feedback that will enable them to formulate successful sales strategies for 2007.

In addition, Corsair also unveiled an array of products at the road shows, including a 620-Watt Power Supply (PSU) Nvidia SLI-certified with modular cables and silent operation, and a new high-end memory series called Dominator. The Dominator is touted as a true memory revolution with a dual heat sink technology that allows operation at memory speeds of up to 1111MHz.
