Sega has announced the sequel to the critically acclaimed, "Condemned: Criminal Origins," which was a launch game for the Xbox 360.

The company says that the sequel will be called "Condemned 2: Bloodshot," and will feature all-new fighting mechanics and online multiplayer functionality. The game will be a first-person action thriller immersing players in a world of psychological terror.

In the sequel, players will assume the identity of 'Ethan Thomas' former Serial Crimes Unit investigator, who has been called back to duty to track down his missing partner. And due to the events from Ethan's past that have left him a broken man, players will be fighting their inner demons as well, while investigating into the disappearance of the partner.

Besides, a new fighting system will be introduced to this game, which features all kinds of new defensive and offensive combo chains, as well as grapples and holds instead of the rather simple system in the previous game. Also, Ethan will have at his disposal a range of high-tech forensic tools, and every murder will be able to be solved in a number of different ways to keep players guessing throughout.

Scott A Steinberg, Vice President of Marketing, Sega America, said that "Condemned 2: Bloodshot" will keep gamers on the edge of their seats with all the tension, psychological terror, and first-person hand-to-hand fighting mechanics involved.

"Condemned 2: Bloodshot" promises to take the original game to an all new level with thrilling online multiplayer modes like deathmatch, which promise to deliver really brutal hand-to-hand combat experiences.

Developed by Monolith Productions, creators of the original game, "Condemned 2: Bloodshot" is scheduled for release on the Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles early next year.
