The charger uses automatic shut-off and recovery technology to stop power to the laptop once the battery is charged

iGo, a developer of multi-device chargers for laptop computers and mobile electronic devices has introduced what it calls the green laptop charger, which promises to reduce the power consumption by up to 80 percent. It launched this device at CES 2009.

This laptop charger is unlike conventional chargers. It uses automatic shut-off and recovery technology to stop sending power to the laptop once it detects that the laptop battery is completely charged.

iGo also launched a power surge protector and a wall outlet with similar power saving technology built in it. In addition to the above, they have launched chargers capable of simultaneously charging one Netbook and an additional gadget like a mobile phone.

These seem to be interesting products, especially the green products, which assume a high importance in our country due to the power situation. More information about the products is available on their official website.
