CES 2008: Motorola Unveils Phones

The touch-sensitive ROKR E8 is the newest addition to the ROKR series, and offers easy switching between phone- and music player- modes.
Motorola has unveiled two handsets at the ongoing International Consumer Electronics Show 2008 at Las Vegas; namely, the ROKR E8 and the MOTO Z10.
The touch-sensitive ROKR E8 is the newest addition to the ROKR series, and offers easy switching between phone- and music player- modes.
The handset sports a virtual number keypad and a music key on the front surface. With a click on the virtual music key, the keypad is replaced by control keys for the music player.
Claiming to offer an uncompromised music and talk experience, this quad-band GPRS/EDGE ROKR features ModeShift technology that enables users to shift from phone to music player and vice versa just with the touch of a button.
The ROKR E8 sports a 2-inches QVGA display, 2GB of internal memory, external memory expandable up to 4GB, and a 2 mega pixels camera.
Other features of the phone are: Haptics technology that provides tactile response at the press of a virtual key, Fast Scroll navigation wheel, CrystalTalk technology, and Windows Media Player 11 compatibility.
Motorola's other handset is the stylish slider, the MOTO Z10, touted as a complete, pocket-sized, mobile film studio.
The MOTO Z10 allows users capture high-quality video, edit clips, create transitions between scenes, add title slides and soundtrack, and upload them onto Web sites.
The phone packs a 2.2-inches QVGA screen that is capable of displaying video at 30 frames per second (fps), and a 3.2 mega pixels camera that features Superfast burst mode enabling capture of up to three images per second.
The MOTO Z10 also features an external storage slot that supports memory expandable up to 32GB capacity.
Both new handsets from Motorola are expected to be available in the first quarter of this year.
