This is too expensive! Lacie has got 320GB available at 84euros (i have just bought it) at Finland. Also in india the best option is to modify laptop hard drive as suggested by SCORP. These are quite rugged, require no external power source and the hardware guy will provide you with a case if you bargain right!!

u can create u r own external hard disk... go to a local harware vendor and ask him to take a laptop hard disk and prepare a external hard disk.. he will do it with proper leater casing as well... and all these for just 1000 bucks

Considering you get 1 TB external USB hard disk with a Power supply which is much more stable and rugged for some 12K ... why would you spend 20K ?

I feel external drives should not be very large in capacities as these are always prone for accidental loss of data mainly due to (mis)handling. In case anyone needs a backup of 400GB (s)he should resort to other medium. More the capacity more data is at risk! What is important is the flexibility to carry big file that can be easily carried on even on smaller sized drives at a far lower cost.
