Kingfisher Airlines has tied-up with PayMate, a wireless transaction company, to offer its customers the simplest way to book flight tickets -- 'FlyBuySms'.

'FlyBuySms' is an SMS-based service, which allows customers to search, book, and pay for their flight tickets -- all from their mobiles. The service is independent of handset type or operator, and does away with the need for an Internet connection.

With 'FlyBuySms', customers can buy tickets entirely from their mobiles, without having to go through the hassle of registering or downloading forms.

Says Ajay Adiseshann, managing director and founder of PayMate, "With this offering, customers will no longer be limited to Internet bookings or bookings via travel agents. It will be a truly anytime, anywhere experience targeted at anyone with a mobile handset."

To buy a ticket using 'FlyBuySms', customers need to first SMS 'KING', followed by the names of places of departure and destination, and date of travel to 5667711; for instance FLY Mumbai Delhi 25Oct.

Customers would then receive an SMS, with details of all Kingfisher flights pertaining to that sector, complete with departure times and best fares available.

Customers need to reply to the SMS, with preferred flight option and name.

PayMate users need to authorize their payment via SMS with their PayMate PIN, while non-PayMate users can pay through credit cards over an automatic IVR call-back. Customers would receive an SMS confirming the booking.
