Book Bus Tickets Online with Awatar

Radiant Infosystems in association with Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, has introduced the AWATAR project.
Radiant Infosystems, a Bangalore-based software services company in association with KSRTC (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation), has introduced AWATAR (Any Where Any Time Advanced Reservation System), a first-of-its-kind road transport online booking project in the country.
Awatar, an initiative by KSRTC, is fully designed, developed, and implemented by Radiant Infosystems on the IBM platform, and is completely architected around the Services Oriented Architecture (SOA). This software would enable customers to book tickets online to various destinations across the state; from the comfort of home or office, or from anywhere in the world. Passengers can now check arrival and departure information, cancellations, and wait-listed status via mobile phones, palmtops, or e-mail.
The Awatar software was handed-over to M R Srinivasamurthy, managing director, KSRTC, by Narayanacharyulu C, director, Radiant Infosystems.
Commenting on the service Narayanacharyulu said, "Awatar helps you book bus tickets online from any where, any time in the world. You don't have to stand in long queues or wait till the agent gives a confirmation about the availability of the bus ticket. The information about Awatar is 100 percent accurate."
When asked about the working of the project, Narayanacharyulu said, "The employees at KSRTC have been trained completely for the project. It will be part of the current transport system. No new recruitment will happen. The government is planning to open
1000 kiosks in the rural areas of Karnataka for Awatar to be operational."
Honorable Chief Minister, H D Kumaraswamy, the first passenger to book a Mysore-Chennai ticket online through Awatar said, "Online reservations will benefit citizens in the state, and is a step forward towards infrastructure development initiated by the state government. The main advantage for passengers is its user friendliness and the ease to purchase tickets from anywhere to anywhere."
