The movie is to be produced and directed by Gore Verbinski, director of "Pirates of the Caribbean" with the screenplay to be possibly penned by John Logan, script writer for movies such as Gladiator, The Aviator, and Sweeney Todd.
The hit video game "BioShock" is headed to Hollywood, with Universal Pictures having signed an agreement with 2K Games, Take Two Interactive Software's publishing label, to develop a movie based on the game.

"BioShock" the game sees players surviving a plane crash, landing into icy uncharted waters, and discovering an underwater city named 'Rapture' -- an utopia gone wrong, where citizens embraced genetic engineering before the city descended into total anarchy.
