Having made a mark with its three-screen strategy - mobile phones, IPTV and broadband - Bharti Airtel is now planning to head towards the fourth screen, namely the digital cinema.
Having made a mark with its three-screen strategy - mobile phones, IPTV and broadband - Bharti Airtel is now planning to head towards the fourth screen, namely the Big Screen.
Bharti Airtel is now busy exploring the possibilities presented by the digital cinema industry. However, there is no concrete information on whether the company will be coming up with a chain of digital cinema theatres or cater to the backend infrastructure requirement of these theatres, reports Business Standard.
If Bharti Airtel goes ahead with this plan, it will be a significant move for the company because at present many telecom players with a fixed line business in India as well as across the world, are eyeing opportunities for expansion. For instance, the Reliance - Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, which bought Adlabs few years ago is now planning to link this chain of theatres through a fibre-optic backbone.
Anything that can rival the Sathyam theatres in Chennai is much welcomed.. :D
