A card-based massively multiplayer strategy game that we should all be hyped for
Now here's something new. Battleforge is an RTS -- but not like any other RTS where you have to wait for your troops to spawn and struggle with tech trees and juggle multiple buildings... This is the fastest moving RTS game we have played. It also has a unique feature of being a card-based game, but we will get to that aspect a bit later. Finally -- it's an MMORTS, and can only be played online.

We had the opportunity to get a peak at this game, behind closed doors, at the GCA '09 conference in Singapore. The speed at which this game progresses just blew our mind and got us hooked from the start. Here's how the game is setup: You basically have two types of buildings to create all through the game. One is a power supply unit and the other is a monument. The more power you can supply, the more the units that can be built. The monument in the game determine the type of units that can be built: fire, frost, nature and shadow. Each monument is equal to one tier and there can be a maximum of four tiers. This means that the units which can be spawned range from tier 1 units to tier 4 units. These power supplies and monuments are located throughout the map and just need to be clicked on a few times to be captured.
