BSNL and MTNL have finally launched the OneIndia Plan that will come into effect from the first of March.
The OneIndia Plan slated to be launched by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) on Republic Day 2006 has finally been launched and will come into effect from the first of March.
This move is with a view to connecting the country at an affordable tariff, and the new plan will enable customers of BSNL and MTNL to call from a landline or a mobile phone to any where in the country for one rupee a minute.
For its post-paid mobile services, BSNL has proposed a rental of Rs 299. Calls to other BSNL subscribers will be at the rate of 40 paise a minute, while calls to any other network across the country will cost one rupee a minute.
Pre-paid subscribers on the other hand are being offered a package of Rs 799, which will include a talk time of Rs 550 for a validity period of 30 days. Under the package, calls made to BSNL subscribers will cost 60 paise a minute while calls made to other networks will be at the rate of one rupee a minute.
Local calls to landlines under this plan will now be at one rupee for three minutes, while STD calls to phones across the country and across the network will cost one rupee.
I have BSNL Ananth card scheme & the 2 numbers (one landline & other mobile no.) per min 50 paisa is not working for me. It takes 50 paisa.Plz advice me what is proper syntax of message to sent my mobile no is 9460021615

Whatever they are planning, whatever r giving is just a fool around monk! Let me tell u something which I'm facing since last 15-20 days. Most of the time I'm not able to get this "123" servise. What is this? I think first BSNL should think about their basic servses then go for other things. like one INDIA. What is the use of if in INDIA only one person get connecyed at a time.
by Brajesh Tripath, Kharagpur, on Feb 21, 2006 02:16 AM, Report abuse Reply
dear brajesh first of let me tell u that the 123 service of bsnl is not in any way related to the india one plan. yes there might be a service lapse , but it is with mobile operators also. it is on the recomendation of ministry of communication that bsnl and mtnl are forced to implement this plan. u know bsnl/mtnl are going to make huge loss just to give this plan. why can not people see that they are now having so much flexibility. more over it is a choice nor mandatory to move to this plan ,if u wish u can remain in that general plan. in other words just think of it as another plan which u may or may not choose depending on ur requirement if u have any doubt than u can mail me anurag

No.You cant.As it is strictly mentioned in the add in BSNL site, that you can recharge with coupon more than 880Rs or top up cards.(Once you have opted for ONEINDIA plan). Its ridiculous. If you make less call a month & you have balance, still you have to recharge with 880Rs recharge coupon inorder to stay alive.

Hi Anurag Yes, u r right that this is plan is good enough for the public and also they are doing good in every telephone services, but my dear friend i just want to say that first why not make services smooth and prompt, than go for some other plans. I'm agree with you that now services are more cheaper than earlier and these are beneficial for every person, but there should be some consistency and reliability while providing services. If we go further and don't see others are coming or not. Isn?t it bad? So my view is that everything is good, but make sure that other services should be smooth. Thanks

dear friend i think u are a bit misguided and that might be right at this point because at present the customers are not very clear abt this plan. take it as another plan though a very good one .this is unprecedented in the history of indian telecom . just rememeber the days when we had to go to std to make std calls with in the state and then came this '95' facility. it is going to be the same with this and bsnl/mtnl have set a trend which the others will follow and ultimately the sub's will benefit

BSNL increased the rent to Rs.299/. This is unaffordable to middle class & low class people. In this case people will think of avoiding a rental phone because at every corner there is there are telephone booths. One India plan is a very good
by elsa, Cochin, on Feb 24, 2006 10:23 AM, Report abuse Reply
The plan is good but the rent is what kills the plan. Now in postpaid If a person were to to only 300 calls(STD) per Month. Then his bill will come 599 permonth. So for 300 call he paying 599 total which means he actually calling at the rate of 599/300 = 1.99 paise per call. Only if he make around 1000 calls (STD) he will benifit but still he call charges will be 1.3paise. in postpaid also it is the same story. Nobody gives you anything less that 1.25 on std except for the reliance FWP which is 1500 rent 1575 calls per month and .90 paise for any call.
by qwan, Mangalore, on Feb 23, 2006 08:30 PM, Report abuse Reply
hi One India service is benificial for high end user who call more but for low end user it is a loss. for people having Plan 100 it means hike in Rs. 199 in rental only.BSNL should do a bit for low end user . When call rate are reduced BSNL also shoud think of increasing the upload and download mb of data one 265 plan

by Vinod, Mumbai, on Feb 15, 2006 04:17 PM, Report abuse
First of all, we should bear in mind that everything may not be applicable to everybody. this is also like this. It is for those affluent higherend subscribers and not for the middle class. For people in the lower strata BSNL already introduced Excel-Ananth. You have options to be in the existing scheme. To switch over to "One India" plan is not compulsory. Then why all these flutters? Of course we, Indians, want Govt. to do everything for us but most of us are evading payments to Govt. (like tax etc.)
by rajamragu, Thiruppullani, on Feb 20, 2006 12:06 AM, Report abuse
You know Mr., who are high tax payers??? Only Middle class and who is benefiting from new scheme, only higher class, which evading taxes, either it may be sales tax, income tax, local tax and many more.Have you seen Hindi Movie "NAYAK"???? If not, see that and judge yourself that Mr Gargi is fully right and your words are from higher class tax evaders side

I am sure After few days U will get a landline connection , Broadband and cable TV throgh a ONE cable. May be copper or Fiber. Lets wait . And this is just a start. You all will have video conferencing at Rs. 5/Minute soon. Cheers!!

Presently I am using prepaid 550 card which gives me talkyime of Rs 440 for 45 days. Normally I spend Rs 300-350 in 45 days and remaining amount is C/F. Now I have a balance of Rs 1200 and above. In this new scheme I have to spend Rs 799 ( aprox Rs800) with a talk time of Rs 550 for 30 days validity. This scheme of no use to us who spends about Rs 300- 350 per month even though the cost per call is less. You must spend Rs 550 per month to get the benifit of this new scheme. This scheme is for high end users. Mungerilal ke hasin sapne.....

IF IT AT ALL THE GOVT REALLY WANTED IT TO BE LIKE THE WAY IT IS PRETENDING TO BE , THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE INCREASED THE RENT FROM 180 TO 299 . IT5 SHOULD HAVE BEEN FOR ALL BY DEFAULT

ALL SERVICE PROVIDERS ARE MAKING FOOL TO SUBCRIBERS BY INTRUDCING EVERY TIME NEW SCHMES, IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO MAKE PROPER TELEPHONE-DIRECTORY AND LOTS OF PEOPLE CHANGES THERE MOBILE NOS. DUE TO EASY AVAILABLITY OR DUE TO NEW PLAN. THERE ARE LOTS OF PLAN WITH ALL SERVICE PROVIDERS, IT DIFFCULT TO CHOSE CORRECT PLAN,hENCE IT IS REQUESTED TO SERVICE PROVIDER TO MAKE SIMPLER 2 0R 3 PLAN ONLY OR MAKE ONE PLAN FOR ALL INDIA LIKE INDIAONE.

WOW, Excellent move and just right cost for the post paid users. Really Excellent, another first from India , I guess. First was the incomming calls free on all mobiles. Even devoloped nations like USA & SINGAPORE charge their customers for mobile incomming. YAY INDIA

They should increase the validaty to 3 months or something. 800/month is too much for prepaid users. When is it going to come for MTNL but?

The plan looks good, maybe not great. Not everyone can afford to pay up 299 per month, especially in the rural areas. The important thing to be noted is that this plan is not available for business like in PCO and STD booths. That is one really sad thing. If that is introduced, then even common man will be able to call anywhere in the country by just walking up to the coin phone. Only then it will reach the masses, as 299 is still a bit costly for many people in India. Anyway, hats of to Dayanidhi Maran. It was his dream and he made sure that it came true. Seriously, where there is a will there is a way.

well plan is good but it is very costly for prepaid subscribers bcoz RS 800 is too large amount.but is good for landline and postpaid subscriber.

great news for all.credit goes to dayanidhi maran.the man has shown if you have the will you can do what you want.but these service providers may now try n fool people by increasing monthly rentals, infact BSNL has already started doing that.also change in government can hamper future price cut.hope ISD price cuts will also come soon.

Its a great move to take india as a world's NO1 telecom giant.
by KAMARAJ, Chennai, on Feb 10, 2006 05:12 PM, Report abuse Reply
Its a good move. BSNL being the only company which has entered into every remote corner of the country this scheme will be user friendly.

That is useless for people who calls less. with 299 per month who will stic with BSNL landline ( though it is not clear if BSNL hiked the price or onl MTNL) but 299 per month for nothing. If they try to compensate the loss by hiking the price then people will shift to Tata rent free with "local calls at 90 paise for 3 minutes" Eventually BSNL will fall into loss well If they don't introduce rent free schemes then it bye bye BSNL

Any plan introduced by telecom companies will not benefit everybody. There will be somebody who will be benefited more and somebody who didn't. So there is nothing bad in it. Moreover these plans will provide huge benefit for the high calling customers. One thing to be kept in mind "To get something you have to give something". Kindly note: not everybody has shifted to TATA's rent free plan. It may not be benefiting many.
