Losing a cell phone or someone stealing the same is a very common problem. Buying a new piece seems to be the only way out in midst of the heartbreak. Incidentally, BPL Mobile seems to have a better solution on offer in form of Ultimate Mobile Tracker (UMT).

What if the thief replaces the firmware ( OS ) of the phone which can be easily done at any mobile repairing center. Will this not affect the software? Kindly help me in this concern. If this works after firmware updation too then it will be best system. Kindly reply..

Well still some questions remain unanswered... What if the Thief Removes the SIM card but Doesnt Put another one... I.e Keeps the mobile Switched off & later sells it as a second hand phone to someone Else?? I am assuming that the software will send the SMS as soon as the new owner Puts his SIM... so then Wouldn't he have to bear the Brunt?? Also as "get_saif" has Written below, what If the true owner deliberately changes the SIM card by choosing another Provider??? Does this mean we only have to stick to one Service provider per handset!!!! I hope not....

do this application cause a privacy problem to its original owner also when thesoftware is infected with a virus. Do the person who stolen the mobile note that his prepaid credit is lowering due to the msgs sent?
