BOSS: Operating System with Indian Tadka

Will talk in 18 regional languages
Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) have revealed their operating system with an Indian connect. Called the BOSS or Bharat Operating System Solutions, the OS is an open-source Linux distro aimed to give the regular Linux OS, a taste of Indian languages.
BOSS is currently in version 3 with 18 regional languages supported and other features such as Bluetooth, RSS reader, PDF viewer and Bharateeya Open Office Suite.
For the time being, BOSS V3.0 aims to be powering most of government PCs for which they have signed a MoU with the National Informatics Center (NIC). Four states -- namely Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Bihar and Chhattisgarh, are already working to standardise their e-governance applications around BOSS.
End-users can also give it a try by downloading the ISO here or by ordering a CD of the same by contacting them.
