The 'Eee PC' offers two modes of intuitive user interface (UI) design: the easy mode, and the full desktop mode for both experienced and inexperienced PC users. Meanwhile, the PC is also Windows XP compatible.
this article is stupid. It's a complete laptop. Not a specialized blah blah PDA blah for students. the US price is Rs. 12,000, so indian price should be somewhere like 15k to 17k

if i buy this pc through someone from us, do i have to pay import duty. i though for products within 25000 no duty is required. further will the service centres accept products purchased in other countries

The Price of Eee PC is $100 ie 7500 change and why will it be costing us 18k. Please explain and give me the dealer name who deals in the product.

the price on toms hardware for the eeepc 7 model is 300 dollars, approx 12,000, not 7500. with import duty and all, i think a price tag of 18k will be reasonable.

earlier it was announced eepc is Rs7500/and now it is 20K by march 2008 we may get better note books for 20k

Wow this would have been an awesome laptop if not for the low memory space. 4 GB is very low. If they can reduce the cost, it will be useful to students since they can carry this very easily.

20k ? too high price for too low stuff. It should have been less than 5k. I'm sure, mainstream laptops will be <20k this year-end or Q1,2008.

Pay 5k Extra and get a better Laptop from HP/Acer. The 7" Screen can't even be used to browse internet, let alone work with!

By this year end - laptops( though low end ) should be 20k in India. But proper laptops- who needs a small PDA like eepc with 7inch screen!!!
