Asus Eee PC 1002HA to replace 1000H

Expected to retail at $499 in the US this December
Asus plans to launch Eee PC 1002HA in December this year in the US to replace their Eee PC 1000H model. We've already reviewed Eee PC 1000H and found it expensive for the Indian market.
As mentioned by Stanley Wu, product manager-Asus notebooks Eee PC for India, the company has multiple variants of Eee PC under production.
The Laptop mag folks got lucky to get a preview of the 1002HA's pre-production unit that didn't carry any storage drive. The new model's design carries a lot of influence from Asus Eee PC S101, but is thinner than the 1000H. However, 1002HA has the same keyboard as in the 1000H with the Shift key still to the right of UP key and the trackpad is same as of S101. And instead of two buttons for single and right click, there's one straight silver bar-like button for clicks below the trackpad.
The specifications of Eee PC 1002HA won't be much different from its predecessors and mostly will sport 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, built-in webcam and Windows XP Home edition (don t even ask why not Linux, even we don't know why).
The new model will have a two-cell battery that is expected to be of high capacity (4400 mAh), which is almost like generic four-cell battery, and will last five hours. Asus is expecting to retail Eee PC 1002HA at $499 (Rs. 25,000 approx.).
One question will puzzle all - Why replace the existing products with mere hardware refreshments, which were possible earlier as well?
