The "KAL300" UPS is targeted at home, SOHO, retailers, and lottery terminals, and has extended backup for small servers and workstations and PCs.

Asia Powercom has introduced a new UPS, "KAL300" with extended backup for small servers and workstations and PCs.

The company says that "KAL300", which is targeted at home, SOHO, retailers, and lottery terminals, has an extended backup time of 2 hours, and can support a PC or EPABX or an inkjet printer or an inkjet multi-functional device (MFD).

According to the company, the UPS is specially designed for Indian conditions, with unique features such as two Indian output 5-pin sockets and a circuit breaker protection, off mode battery charging, and an inbuilt telephone/modem/LAN surge protector.

In addition, when the utility input is normal, the UPS would provide surge protection to equipment and energy to charge the internal battery. And if it is abnormal, the UPS can supply AC power to the load immediately without resetting the PC.

It is also learnt that all UPS in the 'KAL' series are equipped with microprocessor-based controls for reliability, as well as an automatic frequency selection to match with power utility.

Besides, the advanced battery management feature enables prolonged battery life and helps charge the battery fully. And in case of overload and short circuit, there is protection available both in line and battery mode.

Talking about the UPS, Tejas Sheth, Director of Asia Powercom, said, "This product is targeted at cities beyond metros, where because of frequent power cuts, people would want such backup time."

Meanwhile, the "KAL300" UPS is available at an end user price of Rs 7,777.
