Malicious codes target Macs

The age-old battering of Microsoft over antivirus software has temporarily taken a backseat with Apple quietly working over possible rise in security concerns.

Apple recently put up an article on their knowledge base that talks about utilities available for Mac OS.

In the article, Apple has recommended using Intego VirusBarrier X5, Norton Anti-virus 11 and McAfee VirusScan to Mac OS users to make the virus programmers' life more difficult. Out of these, two are available at Apple's online store already.

Today, a majority of malicious attacks are crafted for the systems carrying Microsoft's OS. But, recently, a number of malicious codes were discovered targeting Macs like the AppleScript.THT captured screenshots or keystrokes.

Finally, after years of Microsoft jabbing over security, the spotlight is now on Apple.
