Is it true? Find out
With only a day left for the Apple event, rumor mills are going strong regarding the products that might see the light of the day. One of the most interesting products said to be "on the cards" is the new LCD HDTV being developed by Apple. Nothing new eh? But hold on... This one is supposed to be a LCD TV with built-in networking, which will inherit the Apple TV genes by incorporating the features seen on the erstwhile separate Apple TVunit.
Tech maniacs in India might be aware of the fact that the Apple TV unit came with its 40GB hard drive for storage. While a HDD in an LCD is far from rocket science, there are some inherent issues with this set up (or so it is said).
To start with, drive failures, excessive heat and noise issues. However, hard drives do survive in far more brutal PC cabinet conditions - so this might just be cakewalk. Rumor mills also suggest Apple going in for a much stable(r) SSD solution (and ending up adding a few 100 extra dollars to the price tag.) At this moment, I do not think Apple would really jump in with SSDs if HDDs will do just fine. Maybe in high-end versions?

err.. have u guys seen event invite doing the rounds on other websites? It says "the spotlight turns to notebooks" so apple is going to most likely only talk about notebooks.
