MacBook Mini-DisplayPort still create display problems
Apple's MacBook line up had been facing display distortion issues ever since the unibody aluminum made MacBook Pro models were introduced. Recently, Gizmodo reported that the distortion issues still exist in new Mac machines.
A discussion thread on the Apple Support forum brings to light the image distortion issues users face while using Mini-DisplayPort to dual-link DVI adapter. To address this display issue, Apple had also rolled out the 1.02 firmware update for the Mini-DisplayPort to dual-link DVI adapter. However, this update is not available via Apple software update or website.
Even after updating the adapter firmware, display distortion issues continue to haunt the users. Whether Apple openly accepts it or not, the new Unibody MacBooks continue to suffer from display problems. At times, it was blamed on Nvidia drivers but even after fixing that, the issues continue.
Hopefully, these recurring display issues have been taken care-of in Snow Leopard upgrade for all the Macs.
