Industry news is that Apple is likely to update some of its current products, including iPods and MacBooks, in September.

In keeping with the events of the past 3 years, there's news that Apple is likely to update some of its current products in a special event to be held in September.

If reports are to be believed, Apple is likely to announce a refreshed line, in terms of price and capacity, of its music player, iPod, as well as some new MacBooks.

Now that the iPhone 3G market penetration is in place globally, Apple is now focusing on polishing its existing star products. According to an Apple Insider report, last month Apple issued an advertisement bulletin for its channel partners to collect buffer stock for around 3-4 weeks.

The notice included a recommendation for sellers to stock up on their top-selling iPods for as much as 4 weeks, as well as 13-inch MacBooks and 15- and 17-inch MacBook Pros for 3 weeks.

This advertisement, along with industry trends and the fact that some of Apple's products are ageing, it is widely believed that something new from Apple is in the pipeline.

What about the MiniMac "Macmini". It has not been updated for a long time? I want one but will not buy the overpriced outdated hardware.
