In the wake of all the Apple Brick-related talk, many tongues have been wagging about the possibility of a new product on the horizon. After all, when you start a new manufacturing process, it only makes sense to start manufacturing stuff based on the process, right?
It's official now, so you can set your alarms for October 14th, for that is the day when Apple may announce a spanking new notebook, refreshes to the current notebooks, or both. Yes, as with all news Apple, we have little concrete information to go on. We do know it s about notebooks, though, thanks to the teaser invitations that journalists in the US have received: "The spotlight turns to notebooks."

Here's what we know (if you can really call Apple-related speculation knowledge): if you use the Apple logo as a guide, the notebook in the invitation is likely a 13.3-inch affair, and most likely cut out using the new Brick process. The new notebook may also cost as little as $800, as the Inquisitr
found out from an Apple store insider. Vijay Rakesh, a ThinkPanmure analyst, says that this device might be Apple s entry in the netbook race small, cheap laptops designed for portability and using the Internet. Finally, there s the likelihood that the new notebook may have a touchscreen, complete with the multi-touch goodness that makes us love the iPhone so much. And if that comes at $800 or so (highly improbable), it has the potential to get tablet PC makers very hot and bothered.
The one thing we know beyond doubt is that once again, Apple has succeeded in sucking us all into obsessing about what s to come. But we must be strong, and think nothing of it till the 14th. Well, after
we take another look at what the product might look like.
