Android games from EA soon!

An EA spokesperson has apparently confirmed that EA is interested in developing stuff for Android.

With Glu Mobile and Namco Networks announcing the first games for the Android platform (which made its debut last week), EA Mobile has been asked if they were up to something for the platform.

An EA spokesperson has apparently confirmed that EA is interested in developing stuff for Android, but only after, they launch "a content billing solution to bring their premier IP to market." In a chat with a scribe from the gaming website Pocketgamer.co.uk, the spokesperson added, "EA will support the Android platform, as any platform that can deliver a robust game experience is good for introducing new consumers to mobile games."

The "Premier IP" phrase in his statement could mean that it would be too soon to expect mobile (Android) versions of The Sims or FIFA until EA finds a way to charge for them. As of now, paid app downloads are not supported in the Android app store.
