An Online Revolt in Turkey

Turkish bloggers are staging a virtual revolution to condemn cyber censorship in the country.
There's a virtual revolution against stringent web censorship brewing in the Turkish cyberspace. The revolt is by Turkish bloggers to condemn major websites being banned in the country.
Earlier this year, video-sharing website YouTube was banned for the second time in Turkey, which supposedly insulted Mustafa Kemal Atat rk, the founder of modern Turkey. Apart from websites, some Wordpress blogs too have been banned.
Hence, as a protest, some Turkish bloggers are banning themselves. A Turkish blogger put up a message on his blog that roughly translates to: 'The access to this web site is stopped by its owner's free will'. Another blogger has included a code on his blog, which allows visitors on his blog to add the same message on their homepage instantaneously.
The protest is expected to last till Wednesday.
