Airtel Launched in NE, Assam

Airtel has launched its services in North East and Assam adding to its 10.6 million strong customers in the country.

Airtel has launched its services in North East and Assam. Airtel, who has more than 10.6 million customers in the country, said its launch in this region makes it the first mobile service in the country to be present in all the 23-telecom circles.

The company said its 2.5G GPRS enabled ERä network, which covers key towns and highways in the region, has been deployed by and will be managed by Ericsson. The network is said to have superior processors to handle calls, reduce network congestion, enable better call completion rate and increase efficiency.

Airtel said it would also be offering its customers in North East and Assam various value added services such as Airtel Bill Coupon and mobile entertainment that includes Hello Tunes, Airtel Live and other services. The Airtel Bill Coupon (ABC) lets customers pick up the ABC of the denomination nearest to their bill amount and dial 123. The amount will automatically get credited to the customer's account and balance, if any, will get adjusted in the subsequent bills.

Airtel Live provides access to games, color wallpapers, video clips, polyphonic ring tones, music messages, jokes etc. that can be downloaded. Users access content on Airtel Live through voice (by dialing 646), SMS (sending keyword to 646), GPRS (Airtel Live mobile portal) or the Web airtelworld.com. Hello Tunes will include a collection of Assamese songs in addition to Airtel's collection of English, Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telegu, and Malayalam songs.

The company will also provide services like missed call alert, GPRS, MMS, national and international roaming, choice of number, M-Bill and will have 24 hour Customer Care for the region.

Rajan Swaroop, Director - East regional hub, said, "Across India, Airtel has played a key role by connecting people to people and people to places. Airtel offers a unique service experience and world-class customer care, everywhere it goes. North East and Assam have a huge potential for growth and Airtel will try to become a positive catalyst for development."

Airtel said it expects its launch to further boost the telecom infrastructure in the region and thus facilitate overall growth and development. The company also plans to support various public service initiatives in North East and Assam.

Dear Sir/Madam, Why your Airtel is not providing roaming facility in our North-East states? If you can provide in post paid connection, you can also do it in prepaid too. Congratulations AIRTEL !... Now you have footprint in all the 23 TELECOM CIRCLES in INDIA. You are really great for being the only PRIVATE OPERATOR to offer mobile service in ANDAMAAN, ASSAM<<RelianceMobile(Gsm) is in Gauhati only>>, NORTH EAST, Jammu n Kashmir... Customer from any other GSM private service provider has to select your network only [NONE OTHER WAY] for 2 way roaming... OK... MISSION ACHIEVED...Then only one QUESTION....? ARE YOU STILL GOING TO CHARGE UPTO Rs7/MIN FOR ROAMING CALLS (Incl tax) EVEN TO YOUR OWN CUSTOMERS???? It is a hell of load for airtel customers. WITH THESE ROAMING CHARGES, THERE IS NO USE FOR A CUSTOMER IN A NETWORK WHICH PROVIDES SERVICE IN ALL CIRCLES... If you charge Rs7/min for other network customers roaming in your n/w then that is OK.. BUT TO YOUR VERY OWN CUSTOMERS, THEN WE BETTER SELECT OTHER SERVICE PROVIDERS TO ROAM IN YOUR NETWORK... Please remember one thing Airtel, CUSTOMERS DONT JUST NEED YOUR HELLO TUNES, MASALA SERVICE, SMS SERVICE, 696 SERVICES... We need ---->>VALUE FOR MONEY<<---- REDUCE ROAMING CALL CHARGES FOR PERMANENT<<Dont Just provide new schemes for a while, WE R No FOOLS to BELIEVE THEM>>,....ELSE YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR BUSINESS CUSTOMERS.... "TATA INDICOM"??? TAUBA TAUBA!!!!!! Naam Bare aur Darshan Chhotey!! Surprise on their part.I took their Rs 700/- PM internet plan and they provided me a Walky with number 5545507 at Patiala and to my great surprise, I could not make PC2Phone call through a calling card, to my son, in USA. When contacted they said, they are not allowing this service and when I reminded them that you are only service provider and when TRAI have asked to provide this service , why you are not providing and also that all other ISP's providing the same and their reply was A Big "NO" Is this name of TATA on which Our Great India feel proud on HIM?? I am running pillar to post to get this phone disconnected and seeking my full refund which they charged from me but they saying that they shall not refund me Rs1102/- , activation charges. May I ask, WHY? When they are not providing the services under TRAI rules and also, I purchased their Internet package only or say mainly for PC2Phone. Is it not deficiency in service? Consumer court say deficiency in service is punishable. So I appeal to the proper authorities, to look in my case and ask TATA INDICOM to refund my full deposited and also , compensation for me being harassed by them. FURTHER I WANT TO TELL ALL THE READERS AS WELL AS TATA INDICOM AUTHORITIES AND GOVT AUTHORITIES THAT AFTER TATA INDICOM TOTAL AND BIG "NO" I HAVE GONE FOR THE SAME PATTERN INTERNET CONNECTION OF RELIANCE INFO WITH PHONE NUMBER 01753958708 AND THAT IS RUNNING SO WELL THAT ONE CAN NOT IMAGINE AND TATA INDICOM STAFF STILL SAYING ME THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE THAT RELIANCE PROVIDING ME THE SERVICE WHICH TATA NOT PROVIDING? WHAT A SURPRISING ANSWER FROM TATA'S!!!! I ASKED THEIR EXECUTIVE MR VINOD SHARMA I CAN DEMO HIM THAT I AM TALKING ON VOIP TO USA ON RELIANCE PHONE BUT HE DID NOT TURNED UP. SO IS THAT TATA????????????????? NAAM BARE AUR DARSHAN CHHOTEY!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHALL ANY ONE SUGGEST ME IF I AM RIGHT OR WRONG TO CLAIM MY FULL DEPOSIT FOR TATA INDICOM'S FAULT OF NOT PROVIDING VOIP AND IS THAT NOT DEFICIENCY IN SERVICE???
