Airtel Introduces mChek Bill Payment

Airtel has introduced "mChek" bill payment solution to its postpaid customers in Delhi and NCR region.
Airtel has announced the introduction of "mChek - Anytime, Anywhere Bill Payment," an innovative new solution that offers additional options for bill payment to its postpaid customers in Delhi and National Capital Region (NCR).
The company says that this latest new service is an industry first and allows customers to sign-up for the service via the Internet or through their mobile phone in a matter of seconds and pay their bills with ease and convenience of their mobile phone.
Announcing the launch of mChek, Christopher Tobit, Chief Executive Officer - Delhi and NCR, Bharti Airtel, said, "mChek is a path breaking innovation that is completely in sync with Airtel's philosophy of churning out the best for our customers. Our consistent focus on innovation has made us the market leader and has also been instrumental in helping us maintain this position."
In order to avail the service, Airtel customers need to first send mChek to 458, after which they would be asked to enter 4 digits of their choice as mChek pin, which is for security. Customers would then have to enter the 16-digit credit card number (only VISA/Mastercard) along with the card expiry date and card verification value (CVV) number. They have to again re-verify the 4-digit pin and then they would be successfully registered for the service.
And to pay their bills, customers need to type 'PAY AIRTEL' (e.g. Pay Airtel 11111) and then they need to verify through the pin created in the registration process. After the verification of their pin, customers will receive the receipt number (RN) and Authorisation code (AC) instantly and the payment is credited to Airtel billing system simultaneously. To confirm the transaction, customers need to type 'PYMNT' and SMS to 121 to see that the payment has been successful.
According to Airtel, the mChek is a mobile payment platform that has been developed in close collaboration with VISA and is the first mobile payments solution that complies with the Payment Card Industry's Data Security Standards (PCI/DSS).
Moreover, mChek allows users to link an existing phone and their existing VISA/Master credit card issued by any Indian bank to their mobile phone. And all transactions are secured by a mChek pin that must be entered on the mobile phone in the course of the transaction.
