Airtel Adds Premium to PostPaid

Airtel has launched Airtel Gold, a premium offering on its 64K SIM card, with new preferential services.
Airtel has launched the Airtel Gold preferential services for post-paid customers. The services include Care Touch access, higher credit limits, value plans and a 64K post-paid SIM card that can hold up to 400 entries in the address book.
Announcing the launch, Manoj Kohli, President, Mobility, Bharti Tele-Ventures, said, "Airtel Gold is an attempt to create a first of its kind premium differentiation in the entire post paid service segment."
Users will have their own private phone book in addition to the standard phonebook, each with a capacity of up to 200 entries.
The premium offer also has a free VAS trial of the Hello Tunes service. The customer will get the service, which is worth a monthly rental of Rs 30 along with a ring tone download worth Rs 15, free for a month. Hello Tunes service is a personalized mobile music service where the caller hears songs and other sound clips instead of the traditional switchboard "ring-ring" tone. The service has been made available in 6 different languages (English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Punjabi & Kannada) along with the latest songs from each of these languages.
Caretouch Helpline is a help line exclusively set up for Airtel Gold customers. The help line is attended by senior executives from the customer service call center. Airtel assures a faster turnaround time by bypassing the normal call center queues. Airtel Gold customers will also get a free ICICI Bank-HPCL Gold card free of charge for a year.
The 64K SIM is compatible with all phase 2+ handsets and all makes and brands of cellphones including Motorola, Nokia, Ericsson, Siemens, Mitsubishi etc.
To get an Airtel Gold SIM card, new customers would need to pay the applicable activation fees, security deposit and opt for a bill plan which is higher than the Rs 350 plan.
