AMD Announces 2 New Graphic Cards

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has today announced the introduction of two new entry-level graphic cards in the ATI Radeon HD 4000 series -- the ATI Radeon HD 4550 and ATI Radeon HD 4350.
The new ATI cards are aimed to deliver gaming and HD multimedia performance at value prices. Both cards are based on the same technology found in the ATI Radeon HD 4800 series, including support for the latest DirectX 10.1 games and HD multimedia capabilities.
The cards also feature 7.1 channel surround audio via HDMI, 7.1 channel surround audio via DisplayPort, cable-free HDMI and enhanced DVD Upscale.
Directed as competition to Nvidia's entry-level 9400-series, the ATI Radeon HD 4550, is being touted as a mainstream-class PC game performer at value price. Based on the AMD advanced second generation 55nm process, the card features 80 stream processing cores, as found in other 4800 series products.
AMD claims that 4550 cards will outperform Nvidia's 9400 GT by at least 20% in common games and deliver at least 30 fps in popular game titles.
According to AMD, certain ATI Radeon HD 4350 graphics card models deliver up to 7.4 times the performance of competing integrated graphics offerings from Intel in games such as Company of Heroes in 1280x1024 resolutions.
ATI Radeon HD 4350 claims to consume a mere 20 watts under full load and featuring a frame buffer of 256MB memory and 7.1 channel audio via HDMI.
The (512MB) is priced at Rs. 3,500, while the ATI Radeon HD 4350 (256MB) will cost Rs. 2,500. Both the graphic cards will be available in India in 2-3 weeks from now.
