Viewsonic showcased the first-ever LCD display to support unprecedented refresh rates of 120Hz, which vastly improves upon currently available LCD displays.
At Nvidia's Nvision 2008, a visual computing event sponsored by Nvidia, Viewsonic showcased the first-ever LCD display to support insane refresh rates of 120Hz. The prototype, which will be VX2265wm once it enters the assembly line, is a 22-inch panel directed at extreme gamers. It remains to be seen whether a 22-inch screen would satisfy them.
You may wonder what's so impressive about 120Hz? To put things into perspective, the best displays available today run at 60Hz. Only CRTs are capable of refresh rates like 120Hz, which is why hardcore gamers still swear by CRTs. In fact, no LCD display could come close to a good CRT when it came to refresh rates, until now.
The panel also boasts of an ultra-low 3ms average response time, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, dual-link DVI input and a 4W speaker to boot. No further technical details or pricing information is available at this time.
thats it. i was dam waiting for such a lcd monitor, which will have refresh rates above 85 Hz. i am keeping my fingers crossed when it will be available in the market ?
