Whenever I browse some sites with the latest Internet Explorer 7, they take forever to load and slow down the computer. When I try to surf the same Web pages on my brother's computer which has Internet Explorer 6, those sites load fast. Why is this happening? I've tried everything -- from changing Internet Explorer temp directory size to deleting all temp files -- but without avail.
Clearing of temp files or fiddling with temp directory size will be of no help here. This occurs due to Internet Explorer 7's inbuilt Phishing filter, which is designed to screen any and every page that you access on the Internet to keep malicious Web sites at bay.
The filtering becomes slow due to certain Web pages using many frames. Internet Explorer 7 evaluates the whole Web page when you browse even a single frame - therefore, the time taken is proportionate to the number of frames. That also explains why your computer becomes slow as CPU usage shoots up.
It is of course ridiculous that this should ever happen. You can download a fix here. Just scroll down to the version of the Windows you are using; generally, it will be either Windows XP 32-bit or Windows Vista 32-bit.

as if we never knew these stuff..... well the best way to master vista is to use it continuously........ and if that doesn't help switch to XP .... . when i found out that my D' link External wi-fi adapter & external blue tooth wont work on my vista , i changed to XP
