Here's a list of PDA phones to help you understand what all of them do and don't have
HTC P3400
The HTC P3400 is a simple, no-frills PDA phone. Since it's a quad-band phone, you can take this one around the world without a care. Dimensionally, it's a bit plumper than current-generation phones but will fit the pocket easily, thanks to its rounded edges. A big screen is a plus for reading documents and Web pages on the go. The only mode of text input is via the on-screen QWERTY or the handwriting recognition mode. It has around 40 MB of user-accessible memory and can be expanded by the cheaply-available SD cards. The processing power and RAM is decent if you are not going to play around with a lot of applications at the same time. Net surfing is possible via EDGE. A typical 2 mega-pixel camera lies at the back which takes decent day snaps. Lastly, A2DP is available for hooking it to a wireless headset.
Some would be concerned about its last-generation Windows Mobile 5.0 OS. But if you ask me, with respect to regular tasks, an upgrade to WM6 doesn't really benefit a lot. A definite advantage of a Windows-powered phone would be the huge database of 3rd-party software that one can install later. Also, since most of the world uses Windows and Outlook on their desktops, their synchronization becomes very easy.
The battery life's decent, too. The P3400 sells for Rs. 10,600, a price which is not going to hurt your pocket too much.

Very nice review. I am using P1i for the past two months. I have also checked out MotoROKR, HTC P3400 and AsusP527. But I would rate SE on the top. However Asus comes with loads of useful accessories. MOTO ROKR is complete waste.

Was touch screen the primary criteria for selecting this list? Nokia E61i and E90 can better any of these phones on any parameter and are tremendous value for money apart from being a lot more sturdier. I think TechTree has to be responsible and clarify on selection criteria whenever you come out with a Buying Guide article.

Yes, this article was particularly based on touch-screen PDA phones. If you read the introduction, i've mentioned about the same below. And i do agree that the E61i is a good phone but it has been already covered in our 'Need a QWERTY' article a while ago.

Nokia e61i is missing here...!!! This PDA phone with full QUERTY, 3g and many nice features is far more superior than all other phones given here...

Am not sure if it is still available in the market but the O2 stealth is also a good buy....2MP autofocus, slider design, WM 5.0, wi-fi..... no edge though

Add WiFi and a mildly faster processor to the P3740 and it becomes the most serious m*f* in the sub-20K PDA segment
