Sony 4X Blu-ray PC optical drive sports a write speed of 4X and comes with the SATA interface. It burns 50GB in about 45 minutes. The drive can also burn HD DVDs as well as standard DVDs.



It's one of the first Blue-ray drives to be able to write DVDs at 16X. With this drive, you get Cyberlink BD software to carry out playback, editing, as well as burning. The drive will be available next month for USD 600 (Rs.24,000).

guys i dnt understand why the company intoduce a new techonology whn one day it has to come down? introduce the blue ray drive unker 5k n bring revolution in the market...kick off the cd/dvd...

Can you burn ol' CDs with this thing?? I also hope the prices drop. I'll buy it when the prices come down to Rs. 2400! LoL

yes it does. but you have to wait for atleast 2 years for it's price to drop from $600 to $60

Drop the prices quickly Sony. How much of money you want to extract on 2-3 years old technology. Develop some new technology instead of milking the same cows for years.
