AMD developing low power CPU for ultraportables

AMD's latest foray into efficient processors Get nostalgic with modern games written for ancient platforms!

With Intel s Atom and VIA s nano around it looks like AMD didn t want to be left behind in the race for power efficiency. Though a bit late into the game, a leaked slide shows AMD is working on a 64-bit, 1GHz, and an 8W thermal power design processor. Though quite slower than the 1.6GHz Atom, it s quite a good start and there will likely be higher powered versions coming out soon.
