    Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1

    Mar 06, 2008 1618 hrs IST

A major update to the world's most-used browser is here (in Beta version, that is). Internet Explorer 8, according to Microsoft, will take the Web experience beyond the page and introduce a new way to seamlessly experience the best of the Web. Apart from a makeover (which is on the lines of the MS Office 2007 interface), major additions to this version are elements like "Activities" and "WebSlices." New features include a choice of layout engine, HTML improvements, platform performance improvements, and improved security. Note: Vista users can download the setup from here.

Is the EU closely scrutinizing this application of MS like it has with everything else MS has put out including Windows 7

I would rather keep away from Microsoft Beta releases, their stable releases aren't less of a trouble to just go invite some classic hell on the box, anyways I prefer linux and Firefox is just the BEST on all the operating systems no matter Linux, MAC or Windooze [wish there was a sleeping smiley]

major additions to this version are elements like "Activities" and "WebSlices." I tried them, they are not working with normal sites. I think they must be there for some sites like MSN etc. or for developers building/updating a site.
